Volunteering / Internships

NorthWest Initiative is a great place to gain wonderful experience in the field of community development. We have four major program areas – Community Outreach, Food Systems, A.R.R.O. (ex-offender assistance), and Administration. We are always seeking dedicated student interns and volunteers to work in our office, school gardens, and to help with projects like flower planters, events, advocacy and more!

To begin an internship or volunteering within a specific program, contact the relevant program manager:

A.R.R.O. (prison diversion and prisoner reentry support) - Monica Jahner - ARRO Program Manager & Legislative Advocate

Food Systems Project (school-based gardens and nutrition education) - Stephanie Onderchanin - FSP Program Manager
